Sometimes You Have to Pivot
Life has a way of throwing obstacles in our path. The best-laid plans can be challenged by the smallest thing — a change in the weather, a shift in the economy, a vehicle breakdown, illness… the list goes on. We all face challenges to varying degrees, but it’s how we deal with them that sets us apart.
Do you resist the need to change and dig in, riding out the storm while complaining the whole time? Do you treat every challenge as something that must be confronted head-on, ready for a fight? Or do you simply accept what is, staying calm and looking clearly at your options?
Sometimes the wisest thing you can do is sit still and wait for the storm to pass. Other times, you can work with the storm and make the most of the opportunity it brings. And then there are moments when the only way forward is to pivot — to go around the storm entirely and head in a different direction.
Life rarely unfolds in a straight line, and challenges aren’t signs that you’ve failed. They’re reminders to pause, reassess, and get honest with yourself about what’s actually happening.
How do you deal with challenges?
Do you complain, fight, or accept what’s happening with grace and presence?
